Michael's 8th Birthday Party

We celebrated with friends early in summer, before most families went on vacation.

S'mores cupcakes

I made Michael's favorite food, including chicken tikkas, garlic noodles, and an olive tray.  This was followed by an ice cream bar:  six flavors and a dozen toppings.

The fifteen party-goers grabbed a super soaker then headed out to the water fun.

The inflatable slide was the main feature for the party, but the giant ball was a huge hit too.

This pool was meant to fill up the water guns and cool off, but it became a popular hangout.

Other June activities included a Post Office tour.  Andrew wasn't too impressed, he didn't even want to ride in the mail carrier's truck.

We kicked off the first day of summer with an evening stroll along the river and the ever popular water steps.

Michael and Elizabeth attended zoo camp, while Andrew and I participated in a week of Mommy and Me zoo explorers.  Notice the two finger petting he learned.

The Pittsburgh Symphony performed Pixar songs for children.  It was a wonderful show.
